Calling All Young Performers! ✨Auditions are coming soon for this year's youth Christmas Musical, "The Velveteen Rabbit," based on the novel by Margery Williams, adapted by Kathryn Schultz Miller, and directed by Tracey Iandiorio!
Audition Details:
📅 Dates: Monday, October 13th & Tuesday, October 14th
(Only need to attend one day)
⏰ Time: 6:00 – 8:00 PM
📍 Location: The Artist Hand Gallery & Espresso Bar

Open to Ages 6–17! No experience necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and holiday spirit! 🎄 Auditioning actors will be asked to read from the script and should also prepare a short song (1-2 minutes) to be sung acapella at the open auditions.
The Velveteen Rabbit has a flexible cast with 23+ roles available including the Velveteen Rabbit, Christmas Toys, Michael (the Boy), Birds, other Rabbits, the Nursery Fairy, and more!
Important Show Dates: All rehearsals and performances will be at the Philadelphia Street Playhouse, 725 Philadelphia Street, Indiana, PA 15701.
▪︎ First Rehearsal (read-through & info session): October 27
▪︎ Rehearsals will primarily take place Sunday–Thursday evenings (not everyone will be called to every rehearsal until closer to the show)
▪︎ Tech Week (MANDATORY): November 30 – December 4
▪︎ Performances (MANDATORY): December 5, 6, 7 and 12, 13, 14
About the Show:
It's Christmas! When the little stuffed Rabbit shows up under the tree, the other toys laugh at him. But Skin Horse, the shabbiest and wisest toy in the nursery, tells him to be patient. Velveteen Rabbit becomes the Boy's true friend, staying by his side through thick and thin. During his illness, the boy has exciting dreams of going to the sea where he and his toy Rabbit have a comic, swashbuckling adventure. At last, the hopeful Rabbit meets the Nursery fairy who uses her magic to make him Real.
