Come in and art!We will meet in the annex building to the east of the MAC's main building every Tuesday from 1-3 pm until the end of the 2025 school year.
Any kind of art is welcome. Drawing, painting, etching, collage, textile/fibers, sculpture, printmaking, mosaic, wood crafts, metal crafts, leather crafts, and on and on. It is also okay to come in and write, work on digital art, or even...nothing :) This is meant to be an opportunity to be around other creatives in our community to encourage each other and share knowledge.
We have a selection on hand of many traditional medias, and some non-traditional ones, all of which can be used for $10 a session if you want to try something new without buying everything first.
Caveats:
*We do not use kiln-grade clay in this studio, but the clay studio next door has everything you need for that! They have a separate studio that is listed online if you are interested. Air-dry, oven-bake, and polymer clay are all fine in the 2-D studio.
*We do not use the printing press without prior training and approval, however, printmaking without one is still more than welcome!
If you bring your own supplies, the studio is $5 a month to come in, spread out, and fellowship. We have 3 studios a week, so if you'd like to attend more than one, it is $10 a month for unlimited access. The other studios meet on Mondays and Thursdays from 6:30-8:30 pm.
And guess what? Studio members who attend for 6 months out of a 12 month period are welcome to display art in our annual studio show!
