🎨 Open Air Abstract – Painting Class at Tempelhofer Feld
Playful, expressive painting for all levels⏱️ Duration: 1.5 hours 👥 Group size: Max 10 🎒 Materials included
What to Expect:
- A creative, beginner-friendly painting class led by Berlin-based artist Sophia Söderqvist
- Held outdoors on Tempelhofer Feld in English
- Focus on fun, playfulness, and creative freedom
- Learn the basics of composition, color, value and texture through hands-on practice
- Develop your own visual style — without pressure or perfectionism
- Warm-up with playful exercises using a customized deck of cards
- All materials provided (acrylic paint, paper/cardboard, brushes, oil pastels, pencils)
The 4 pillars You’ll Explore:
🎯 Composition – layout, balance, movement, scale
🎨 Color – mixing, emotion, complementary contrasts, limited palettes
🌑 Value – light & dark, mood through contrast, black & white abstraction

Discover how to mix, feel, and trust color — and how it changes mood and meaning.Themes include: – The Color Wheel (made simple + hands-on)– Color & Emotion– Painting with Limited Palettes– Complementary Color Experiments
🌑 3. Value (Light & Dark)
Train your eyes to see contrast — one of the most powerful tools in any art. Themes include: – Black & White Abstraction– Mood through Contrast– Working with a Single Color + Value Range
🧵 4. Texture (Surfaces & Materials)
Play with the tactile side of art — layering, contrasting materials, and adding depth through mark-making.
