About this Event
On a Mission to Level Up Kids’ Computer Science Skills in 2025
At Code Ninjas High Wycombe, we're gearing up for an incredible 2025 filled with coding adventures to shape children's futures in the digital age. Computational thinking is becoming ever more prevalent in our society. It’s a concept that our programmes help children navigate on a proven, proprietary curriculum developed in partnership with Microsoft®.
We’re running this special Open Afternoon on 11th January for those interested in levelling up their Computer Science Skills in 2025. The New Year is a fantastic time to join.
For Kids
· Video Game Takeaway (Ages 7 to 14): Our awesome senseis will be supporting attendees in building their very own video game which they will then be able to take home to remix (and show off 😊). They’ll create their own sprites, and position them in their game using x and y co-ordinates. They’ll then apply overlap blocks to create the game’s functionality.
· Project Creation for JRs (Ages 5 and 6): Our younger potential Ninjas will be creating their own “Dance Party” with multiple characters using various visual coding blocks.
· STEM Projects: Kids will also have access to some of the numerous STEM projects we offer in the Dojo alongside our main curriculum programmes – including LEGO® Robotics, micro:bits, and Snap Circuits.
For Parents
· Platform Overview: IMPACT is our new learning platform of which we are very proud. Parents will get an understanding of how the curriculum is structured AND which concepts are taught at various levels.
· Tech does not stand still: With over 400 locations now operating in the US, Canada, and UK, the programmes at Code Ninjas High Wycombe are being developed year round by our awesome Education Team in the US. Recent enhancements include Home Access for the Ninjas and a Parent Portal! We’ll provide a demo of how these work.
· Meet the Team: We ‘re proud of the Management and Sensei Teams we have built in High Wycombe. Come meet us, discover the Educational Benefits of Computer Science, and ask questions to determine whether our programmes are a good fit.
We encourage you to check out reviews from our existing parents at https://reviews.listen360.com/code-ninjas-high-wycombe
and don’t miss this opportunity to level up your child’s Computer Science skills in 2025 and beyond!
Why Computer Science?
Great question! Below are just a handful of the benefits that kids joining our programmes at Code Ninjas High Wycombe will discover:
Problem-solving skills
Children learn to break down complex problems into smaller parts, a skill transferable to various life situations and fields.
Future Opportunities Preparation
Coding skills prepare children for a technology-driven future, offering an edge in various career opportunities.
Logical Thinking
Essential for coding, this involves formulating step-by-step procedures to achieve desired outcomes.
Enjoyment and Engagement
Computer Science is both fun and educational, providing an engaging way for children to learn and develop various skills.
Development of Computational Thinking
Children develop cognitive skills and a methodical problem-solving process. It enhances skills like pattern recognition, logical organization, and data analysis.
Building Resilience and Creativity
Coding challenges children, helping them develop resilience (they will make mistakes!) It also fosters creativity as they learn to bring their ideas to life through programming. They won’t play someone else’s game, they’ll make their own!
Making Mathematics Fun
Coding is a great way to show children the practical application of mathematics – enhancing their maths skills in an engaging way.
