[Black-capped Chickadee—Photo: Mick Thompson]As we move into fall and winter, Steve Koehler will take a fresh look at how native plants support the birds we live alongside. Showcasing photos from his own yard, Steve will highlight how native plants provide food, shelter, and nesting sites. This is an exploration beyond feeders and nest boxes to consider the habitat birds and wildlife used before human presence on the Peninsula.
Learn how to recognize and encourage native plants already in your yard and explore how birds and insects rely on them throughout every stage of a plant’s life. Bring your questions and insights to share! Suggested donation: $5. Learn more at https://olympicpeninsulaaudubon.org/events-calendar/opas-backyard-birding-home-a-habitat
