Great weekend in our Capital City. On Saturday 4th May we will walk the 21 Bridges across the Thames covering 17miles. This will be a Charity walk collecting for MIND the mental health charity and The Colonel's Fund. This is a Grenadier Guards charity that offers help and support to wounded veterans and their families, as well as to the families of those who have sadly lost their lives. Remember not all scars are visible. You can also of course just attend the walk if you don't want to get sponsored, it's your choice. There are plenty of places on the walk to opt out if you are tired or have small children with you.
We start at Kew Bridge at 09.00 then East crossing all 21 pedestrian Bridges until our final one Tower Bridge. There will be plenty of breaks along the way including a stop for lunch. We should be finished at approximately 18.00 then giving plenty of time to shower and relax before evening meal.
Myself and Sally will be staying at our normal premier inn Bank(Tower) 20 St Mary On Hill, London, EC3R 8EE.
This is ideally situated as its only 5min walk from Monument tube station and 12min walk from our finish point.
We are staying from the Friday till Monday so 3 nights. The choice of nights and accommodation is entirely your personal choice.
Friday night will be a few drinks and a meal and let the team introduce and get to know each other . Saturday the walk. then sunday/ Monday exploring London.
We hope to see plenty of you on the weekend it should be a cracker. Please bring the family, it's a great way to knacker out the kids! Can you write a short comment if you are coming or interested and tell us who is coming with you. This may help others decide who to bring with them.
