COMEDY IN THE AFTERNOON! THIS SHOW WILL GO ON!
The new restrictions mean we've moved our Friday night show to Sunday afternoon - but the comedians are just as brilliant and the bar is just as open.
The first edition of the Oosterpoke Stand up Show was a huge success to a packed house. The Plein Theatre is the perfect venue to showcase this country’s top international comedy talents performing in English, while the theatre’s bar is an ideal place to enthuse about the great time you’ve just had: “That’s the best comedy show I’ve ever been to” and “Richard is a brilliant MC” said two people who are in no way related to MC Richard Walker.
The second edition of Amsterdam’s hottest new comedy show is on December 5, and because we’re in a theatre, the new shutdown rules don’t apply. And you can even still buy drinks in the interval and bring them back into the theatre. The second edition of Oosterpoke Stand up Comedy is on! Tickets are selling fast.
Line up:
Stephen Bell is building a name for himself so fast he already sits atop a vast empire of clubs, shows and appearances. Critics describe him as “always bald”, which must be a typo as he’s got a lovely head of ginger hair and his comedy is hilariously bold.
Sjoerd Scott is neither Scottish nor Dutch, as his name might imply. He’s an American with typically excellent teeth and a naturally uncomfortable relationship with his home country. A rising star for the past couple of years on the Dutch comedy scene he’s now getting noticed across Europe.
Luana-Elena Matei is a brilliant young, Romanian comedian who not only regularly delights Comedy Cafe crowds at their great open mic night, she’s one of its producers too. She’s lived in many countries around the world and can speak English. Well, that’s all you need isn’t it.
Liam Moclair has been described as a force of nature, and as a farce of nature. Combining these elements on stage produces something close to earth, wind and fire, but mostly wind. Mercifully, this is a very funny wind indeed.
