About this Event
Join the National Hellenic Museum’s Online Book Club!
Facilitated by NHM's Resident Scholar Dr. Katherine Kelaidis, each month the NHM Online Book Club chooses a book that is either inspired by the Hellenic legacy or by a Greek American author (and sometimes both!). Then we gather to discuss the book on Zoom.
Book Club is free to join and meets on the third Thursday of each month at 7 PM CST
In March, we will be discussing by Yvette Manessis Corporon
More about Daughter of Ruins :
Yvette Manessis Corporon’s Daughter of Ruins explores the emotional ties between generations in a Greek-American family. Set against the backdrop of Greece’s rich, turbulent history, the novel interlaces personal tragedy and national identity. Following a woman who returns to her ancestral village after a family loss, the story delves into secrets, the legacy of wartime suffering, and the healing power of cultural roots. Through lyrical prose, Corporon captures the timeless connection between place, memory, and personal reinvention.
