If you are intimidated by drawing, this course increases confidence through a progressive and varied selection of exercises and activities. Traditional materials such as pencil, pen, and charcoal on paper will be used to study core ideas and skills: tone, form and proportion, perspective and artistry. Demonstrations and individual instruction included. All welcome, no prior experience necessary.
About the Instructor: As a teaching artist with several degrees in visual art and education, Kevin Willson brings his passion for creativity, communication, and culture to students of all ages, ability, and learning interests.

About Online Courses: Virtual fall courses will be delivered via ZOOM. Prior to the course session, you will receive an invitation for the session(s) via email. You'll need a laptop, desktop or tablet, internet connection with good bandwidth and a headset (either wired or wireless) if possible. Materials: Students are responsible for sourcing their own materials for online courses. For Drawing Foundations, you will need the following:
- Pencils (4H, HB, 4B)
- Charcoal Sticks (compressed and willow)
- Pencil Sharpener
- Scissors
- Steel Edged Ruler
- Eraser (vinyl)
- 4 Sheets (or more) of drawing paper (16 x 20” or larger)
- Common drawing paper
- Masking tape
- Ink, brushes, pens, quills and nibs (optional)
- Pastels (optional)
