About this Event
The One Take Super 8 is a decentralized network of filmmaking challenges and screenings presented across the globe. It was started in the year 2000 by Alex Rogalski in Regina, Saskatchewan — since then it has inspired the creation and screening of thousands of films in more than 50 international locations. CineVic proudly brings OTS8 back again for its 6th edition on Vancouver Island, and the 25th anniversary of the founding event.
Earlier this summer, participants from Victoria and the surrounding region were given a camera, a roll of film, and one week to create their own 3-minute Super 8 movie. The only catch: no editing. The filmmakers had to capture their scenes in order with no second chances, and they’ll witness their work for the first time along with the audience at two live screenings!
This year’s participants utilized the new Kodak Super 8 digital/analogue hybrid camera — we’ll have it on display at the screenings so you can check it out for yourself!
Drinks will be available for purchase, and the audience is invited to stay for a short mingle after the show.
