
About this Event
In connection to this year’s , get ready for a special collaboration between the Gulf of Georgia Cannery, Ocean Legacy, and the One Ocean Film Tour! Join us weekly for one-time only screenings of 2025’s short film programme, highlighting the beauty, diversity, and importance of our oceans, the marine life that inhabits them, and us.
First, take a guided trip through The Haunted Sea, as you travel from the shoreline to the deep ocean in our upcycled-plastic experience. Next, visit the Cannery’s historic Boiler House Theatre for special access to a series of films from the One Ocean Film Tour Vol. 5 playlist. Finally, take a trip to Ocean Legacy to view their facilities and learn about the work they do to keep plastic from our oceans!
This special event will raise funds to support the important work of both the Gulf of Georgia Cannery and Ocean Legacy Foundation in preserving our oceans and coastlines.
October 11: Ocean Wonders
Why do oceans and marine life capture our attention? What makes us brave harsh conditions and dangerous landscapes for just one look at the waves? Join us as we explore the lengths humans will go to to experience and capture the beauty and wonder of the water.

The oceans, waterways, and marine life around the world are under threat from man-made and natural disasters alike. Join us to learn about the dangers our waters face, witness the resilience of marine life, and take inspiration from examples of ocean protection.

We share the Earth with the creatures and animals of the world’s waters. In many cultures, waterways and marine life hold sacred connections to humanity. In this screening session, broaden your understanding of the relationships between people and water, and how we can take care of one another.

Haunted Sea Installation Tour
Info: From the sandy shores to the deep sea, our Coastal waters are full of life. The creatures that live in our waters are beautiful, but they can also be strange, unusual, and unsettling before you get to know them.
Journey to the ocean’s depths and get familiar with the wonderful world of underwater creatures in The Haunted Sea! Encounter colourful creatures made of upcycled materials and learn how you can protect the ocean life encountered throughout the experience.
