Calling all Arrow of Light (AOL) Scouts and area 5th graders! This event is the first night of a two night event for Troop 285 B&G (Boy and Girl units). Our ~20 Scouts (boys and girls) would like to invite younger Scouts for a night with them to see if they may want to continue Scouting at the Troop level with our Unit.
Agenda:
Friday---
6:00pm - arrive at the Palm Lake Christian Church parking lot with your Scout.
6:30pm - taillights to Skyway Trap & Skeet, 3200 74th Ave N, St. Petersburg, FL 33702
7:00pm - after dinner snack called "cracker barrell" inside the common room
8:00pm-11pm - free play, games, get to know 285 Scouts
11pm - lights out
Saturday---
7:00am - pickup your child at Skyway Trap & Skeet, 3200 74th Ave N, St. Petersburg, FL 33702
Try a one night adventure to see if our Scout Troop is a match for your child. This is a prime opportunity to 'try before you buy'.

About Scouting: Scouts BSA has two Scouting programs, Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA. Cub Scouts is for children grades K-5, and Scouts BSA is for children grades 6-12. The entire last year of Cub Scouts is geared towards preparing a 5th grade Cub Scout to be able to transition to the older program with maximum success. Many exposures to the older program is necessary to give your child the confidence they need to move on from one program to the other.

Adult participation: Adults, I am sorry, but you may not sleep over with your child for this event. We are bound by BSA national rules to ensure the health and safety of all children in our care during Scouting events, so only adults who are registered leaders with a recent BSA approved criminal background check may sleep over at any Scouting event.
You may still drive your child to/from the event, come in to see the layout at the venue, and ensure your child is comfortable before you depart. We'll have your phone number with us so we can call you if your child gets nervous and wants to come home. They'll be far too busy and entertained for that to happen, but we will 'Be Prepared', either way.
