The cast, crew and talented rock band are well into rehearsing the show, ‘One Man - Two Guvnors’. This fast paced, laugh out loud comedy is bought to you by senior students from Nelson College and Nelson College for Girls who are looking forward to showcasing theatre with our local community. So, what’s it all about?
👧🪲🎶Set in 1963- the era of the Beatles in Brighton, England, Francis Hensell is fired from his skiffle band. He takes on a job as minder to Roscoe Crabbe, a small time East End hood, now in Brighton to collect £6,000 from his fiancée’s dad.
🏏🍺🕵️♂️👮♂️But Roscoe is really his sister Rachel posing as her own dead brother, who's been killed by her boyfriend Stanley Stubbers. Holed up at The Cricketer's Arms, the permanently ravenous Francis spots the chance of an extra meal ticket and takes a second job with one Stanley Stubbers, who is hiding from the police and waiting to be re-united with Rachel. To prevent discovery, Francis must keep his two guvnors apart. Simple, right?🕵️♂️
The costumes are sorted, the set is evolving and lighting and sound is being plotted to bring you this hilarious slap-stick farce. Don’t delay- buy your tickets now and support this combined colleges production. Tickets on sale from Humanitix and Nelson College Finance Office anytime, or from NCG's assembly hall at lunchtimes every Thursday.
