Purpose of the Event:1. Create another annual event for Las Cruces that promotes our community and the people in it.
2. Host a free family event that promotes positive interactions between: 1. parents and children, 2. families and community groups, 3. community groups and other community groups.
3. Raise money to support local LCPS students with school related expenses related to extra-curricular activities such as band, choir, color guard, and sports.
4. Collect blankets and heaters that will be given to children and parents who live in cold conditions and need them during winter months. Recipients have been pre-identified but we always accept referrals. Most of these children live in our sister cities of Vado, Mesquite, Berino, Chapparal, La Mesa and Anthony.
5. Collect new and gently used toys for the Toy Shop! A new endeavor by The Sophia. The Toy Shop will be located in Mesquite and available to any child that needs a toy at that moment in their life- whether it is because of removal from their home, poverty, parental abuse, displacement, or another form of hardship.
