It is a strong message of healing, hope and the resilience of the human spirit—a message desperately needed in an age when so many feel hopeless and have lost their ability to dream. Cast members include Scherrie Payne, Formerly of The Supremes, June Monteiro of The Toys, Holden resident Ken McDonnell, and Dr. Korey Varano. Music by Mary Wilson, of The Supremes, and Scherrie Payne is featured in the film.
Based on the award winning book written by Tom Ingrassia and Jared Chrudimsky, One Door Closes is currently on the film festival circuit—where it has been recognized with numerous awards: Most Inspiring Feature Documentary at the Detroit Trinity International Film Festival; Bedst Feature Documentary at the San Diego Independent Cinema Awards; Best Local Feature at the Massachusetts Independent Film Festival; Gold Award at the International Independent Film Awards, and Award of Excellence at the Documentaries Without Borders International Film Festival. The film has been an Official Selection at the Swedish International Film Festival, Berlin Women In Film Festival, LA Indies Film Festival, and Depth of Field International Film Festival, among others.
