✨ Join Us for the Shining Bright for Kids Gala! ✨We are excited to announce the 2025 One Day at a Time Gala, with this year’s theme "Shining Bright for Kids", dedicated to supporting children in the Wide Bay region who have been impacted by family and domestic violence.
Our goal is to raise funds to provide access to essential therapeutic services, such as play therapy, which is currently not funded under any government schemes. Through partnerships with Shine Bright Mental Health and Play & Beyond, children will be referred through Yoorana, Centacare, ACT 4 Kids, and women seeking DV support through Shine Bright Mental Health in the Wide Bay community.
💛 Why This Event Matters:
Play therapy offers a safe space for children to heal, grow, and rediscover hope. With the average cost of $150 per session and a minimum of 10 sessions required, many single-parent families escaping violence struggle to afford it. With your support, we can make a lasting impact and give these children the help they deserve.
A portion of the funds raised will also go toward implementing the HALT Program in local schools, providing vital education on respectful relationships and recognizing coercive control warning signs.

2024: Highlighted the role of men in preventing domestic violence and fostering positive role models.
2025: Shining the spotlight on children, ensuring they have the support they need to thrive.
