Join Stephanie Craig (Santiam and Yoncolla Kalapuya, Takelma Rogue River and Clackamas Chinook) to learn about Indigenous lifeways, stewardship of the land, and traditional ecological knowledge. She will display some of her family's private collection of belongings, along with plant samples of foods and fibers, tools, and contemporary basketry. A seventh-generation basket weaver, Stephanie will demonstrate how to weave a tule duck decoy and discuss the importance and uses of tule to the local Native American people.This event is part of One Book, One Beaverton 2025, for which the selected title is "The Seed Keeper" by Diane Wilson.
