The three of us started this journey almost 9 years ago. Not a day goes by that we don’t think about Tashara. She is our “why.” We have and will continue to suit up every year amongst all families that honor their loved ones lost to overdose. This year’s Overdose Awareness Day is right around the corner. The Lotus Foundation & CFR will be teaming up again for our annual Overdose Awareness event that offers on-site Naloxone training. There will be area support services that table up, giving our community resources that are available to accommodate communities when in need. It’s a time for reflection & connection. It makes space to publicly memorialize our loved ones OUT LOAD. Across the country you will see cities TURN PURPLE in HONOR of those taken way too soon due to overdose. Harm reduction is the key and meeting those that find themselves up against substance use disorder, where they are at. ‘One Big Family’Mark your calendars: August 30, 2025 from 10AM-Noon.
