Join us for a dynamic, all-ages celebration of Black history, creativity, and community on Saturday 2/7 and Sunday 2/8. - Sat & Sun (all day, throughout the museum): High school students from the Detroit Public Schools Community District and Detroit Community School-Charter will bring history to life through first-person narratives, dramatic monologues, and multimedia performances honoring both celebrated and under-recognized African American Detroiters.
- Sat 3-5 pm: Preserving Black Legacy: Detroit Griots panel discussion in the Auditorium. Presented by the Black Bottom Archives.
Plus! Celebrate two new exhibition openings:
- Sat 1 pm: Kevin Siembieda & Curator Billy Wall-Winkel will discuss the new Worlds of Palladium exhibition in the Auditorium Showcase
- Sat 2 pm: LaMont Robinson, founder of the National R&B Hall of fame, will speak about the new pop-up exhibition in Motor City Music
All activities are included with museum admission.
