Our year-long Fashion in Film Series continues this summer! Throughout the year we will delve into cinema’s greatest style hits and explore how clothing and fashion can be woven together to propel a film’s story. Not only will we highlight the work of iconic designers like Edith Head and Coco Chanel, but we will also exhibit films where the costumes are given a starring role. The series continues in June with John Hughes' THE BREAKFAST CLUB!

????? ??? ?????: John Hughes’ timeless high school dramedy resonates as much today as it did nearly 40 years ago. Five teenagers from different walks of life must endure a Saturday together in detention. Filled with unforgettable dialogue and a pitch-perfect ‘80s soundtrack. Starring Judd Nelson, Emilio Estevez, Molly Ringwald, Anthony, Michael Hall, and Ally Sheedy. Presented in a new restoration.
????? ??? ???????: Styled by costume designer Marilyn Vance, the clothing in The Breakfast Club sports stereotypical ‘80s teens fashion. Director John Hughes and Vance purposefully dress each of the five characters to their archetypes – the Jock (blue hoodie, Nike tank top), the Brain (plain knit sweatshirt, trainers), the Basket Case (baggy black layers), the Princess (Ralph Lauren inspired midi skirt, knee high boots), the Criminal (denim jacket, plaid shirt, biker boots, and earring). As the film progresses and the characters grow closer to one another, they begin to shed their layers and modify their looks.

????? ??? ?????? From Marilyn's iconic white halter dress to Brando's leather jacket, it's no secret that some costumes make a lasting impression both in a viewer’s mind and in their closet.
