On My Way Home

What does home mean to you?

I dedicated the last two years of my life to discovering that answer through the exploration and documentation of the Black West. Born and raised in Texas, the Black cowboy has been an instrumental figure not only for my community but to the American soil since the 1800s. This culture has undeniably helped shape and build this country from lifestyle to craftsmanship to building legacy and exemplifying resilience. This photo exhibition invites you into a rich and layered tradition that is upheld by Ranchers, Cowboys, Cowgirls, and other surrounding elements of Black Western life. This collection is a visual representation that home is a place where you can find everything you need. “On My Way Home” welcomes you to uncover what home means for you.
