ON CAMERA & PUBLIC SPEAKING Professional Workshop
Join us at the Maryland Innovation Center (MIC) in Columbia, MD for an exciting and interactive event focused on improving your on-camera and public speaking skills. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced professional, this workshop is designed to help you become a more confident and effective communicator.
During this workshop, Wednesday, May 7, 2025 from 6PM to 9PM, you'll learn valuable techniques and strategies from an industry expert with extensive experience in on-camera presentations and public speaking engagements. Through dynamic & fun interactive hands-on exercises, improvisation and on-camera practice, you'll gain practical skills that can be applied in various professional and personal settings.
Work with monologues, acting scenes, and your own pitches to help you advance your mission! You've worked so hard to plan and finance your business or product, you have a Pitch Deck ready to go, but now you must attract an engage investors, sponsors, or win that grant. This workshop will give you tricks and tip to take it to the next level.
Key skills covered include how to:
BE ENGAGING
- Capture your audience by gaining and holding their attention. Draw them into your world and insure their interest in what your have to offer!
REPRESENT YOUR BEST PROFESSIONAL SELF
- Represent yourself and your product/service with expertise. Learn skills which allow you to present your very best.

- Feel comfortable and prepared to shine in front of a crowd, in a meeting, or in front of a camera recording a pitch or promotion.

YOUR HOST/INSTRUCTOR: Longtime executive, public speaker, and Maryland Innovation Center Entrepreneur In Residence (EIR) Robert Neal Marshall , also a SAG-AFTRA, Equity actor, shares specific skills that professional actors use to win competitive roles in film, on television and in stage productions.
From working with actors, as a casting associate with Pat Moran (Casting Emmy Winner for HBO’s GAME CHANGE and an Emmy nomination for Season one of VEEP) to his own roles on HOUSE OF CARDS, in film and theatre, Robert is no stranger in front of the camera and on stage with years of experience. He is excited to bring these skills to the Maryland Innovation Center!
