About this Event
Omar Romero formed his first band, The Screamin' Solo Flights, in August of 1999. They recorded two tracks on the Dig That Uranium Rock 10” record and played shows from CA to Texas. Wild Records founder/owner Reb Kennedy suggested that Omar team up with drummer Jeff Gerow and the StringPoppers were formed in September of 2001, becoming the second band on the Wild Records label. Their initial goal was simple: record a 45 rpm record, a full-length cd and play in Europe in the style of their favorite music- traditional Sun Records rockabilly. The band has played all over the world and recorded numerous 45 rpm records and cds. Over the years the band has earned a reputation as an exhilarating, wild live act. The band is now better than ever with Noah Martinez on lead guitar and Andrew "Popeye" Iniguez on upright bass.
