On Løvetann and Other Sacred Plants is an exhibition inspired by Frida Hansen’s tapestry Løvetann, created in 1893 for the Norwegian Women’s Association. Using Henrik Wergeland’s words as a guiding thread, the exhibition reflects on the cycle of life and our connection to nature.Through watercolour paintings of medicinal plants from Norway and other parts of the world, I portray these species in the spirit of Icon paintings — reminders of their ancient wisdom and healing power. In our increasingly digital world, where traditional and pagan ways of working with master plants are often forgotten or even prohibited, this exhibition seeks to restore their presence, honour their healing properties, numinous nature, and reawaken our need to reconnect with the living world.
