This seminar will be devoted to learning, identifying and performing the fundamental components necessary for success in the Snatch and CJ.
About this Event

Day 1:

Session 1: (9:00am - 12:00pm)

We will begin the day with a 30-45 minute lecture on what the necessary componenets of a successful Snatch are and what they look like. We will follow the lecture up with time for Q&A.

Following the Q&A we will allow 15-20 mins for everyone to warm-up before we jump onto the barbell.

Once on the barbell, we will begin instruction and then execution of: grip width, hookgrip, overhead placement of the barbell and basic squatting mechanics. Followed by a barbell warm-up.

After our barbell warmup we will begin practicing setups and transitions in each of the 4 primary phases of the Snatch pull: Power, Mid-thigh, Knee and Start positions.


Lunch Break (12:00pm - 1:00pm)


Session 2: (1:00 - 4:00pm)

We will pick up where we left off session 1 and will complete our primary pulling phases during the remaining 3 hours.

Day 2:

Following the Q&A we will allow 15-20 mins for everyone to warm-up before we jump onto the barbell.

Once on the barbell, we will begin instruction and then execution of: grip width, elbow positioning, overhead placement of the barbell and basic squatting mechanics. Followed by a barbell warm-up.

After our barbell warmup we will begin practicing setups and transitions in each of the 4 primary phases of the Snatch pull: Power, Mid-thigh, Knee and Start positions. We will complete al 4 phases of the clean pull before lunch.


Lunch Break (1:00pm - 2:00pm)


Session 2: (2:00 - 4:00pm)

In session 2 we will focus on learning and practicing the 2 phases of the Split Jerk.

  1. Dip and drive.
  2. Footwork.


Note:

Timeframes are estimates. The number of participants may affect these timeframe by 30 minutes or so.
