There will be two tree planting sessions. Each will start promptly so please allow plenty of time to get to the planting site.*

We are Community Trees MK and we are planting trees across the city of MK with the help of the people of MK.

We are partnering with Olney Town Council and MK City Council to plant trees at this wonderful site alongside the River Great Ouse in Olney on the Charity Field. We are planting native riverine tree species which will improve local biodiversity and enhance the green space for all residents. In addition the trees will help absorb some of the waters when the river floods.

To plant trees with us you need to book places in advance.

On the Day:

The Olney riverside community planting day is Saturday 22nd February 2025. There will be two planting sessions that day:

1. 10:00am-11:30am, and

2. 12 noon-1:30pm.

We would like to see lots of local people come along to help us plant trees. This is an open-air event so please dress for cold and potentially damp weather, please wear stout boots or shoes, bring gardening gloves and come ready to do some digging. For those of you who have them, you are welcome to bring your own spades to the event.

No experience is required, full instruction will be given. The aim is to have fun while helping the local environment.

This is a family-friendly event, however, there no toilet facilities in the immediate area.

All under 16's to be accompanied by an adult.

Equipment:

Equipment will be provided and will be available when you arrive.

Covid compliance:

We will operate the event in a Covid compliant manner based on the rules applicable at the time.

Getting to the planting site:

We would really appreciate it if you were able to walk or cycle or use public transport if you can.

If you need to travel by car, we ask that you park in the car park at the Rugby Club. Someone will meet you at the car park and take you the short walk to the tree planting site.

If you are walking or cycling to the site you are welcome to walk to the corner of the charity field near the river.
