Ellie Barber a.k.a. Ollella’s career as a musician started early, when she sang before she could talk. Trained as a classical cellist since the age of nine, the Seattle-based indie-folk musician blends disciplined string work with commanding vocals, looping, and a modern folk sensibility. Performing as Ollella (pronounced oh-lel-uh), she has earned praise from NPR Music and Michelle Zauner (Japanese Breakfast), is a two-time NPR Tiny Desk Contest finalist (2024, 2022), and has contributed music to film and television. Her sound—rooted in organic textures with a sharp, contemporary edge—draws inspiration from artists like Feist, Cat Power, and Sylvan Esso. Read more at barnsofrosehill.org/concerts/ollella
