No Exit is a one-act play by existentialist philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre. Set in a mysterious, windowless room, the play opens as three deceased characters - Cradeau, Inez, and Estelle - arrive one by one, only to realize they are in hell. Expecting traditional torture, they are surprised to find no instruments of pain, just each other. Over time, they come to understand that their torment is eternal not through physical pain, but through psychological anguish inflicted by one another’s presence.Directed by Michelle Dungjen.
Performances of this Studio play are in the Schmuckal Theatre, lower level of the Old Town Playhouse.
