Will Hansen (Old Pup) is a Milwaukee-based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist performing under the moniker Old Pup. Known for his evocative blend of ethereal folk, country-tinged melodies, and lyrical storytelling, Hansen crafts songs that feel both intimate and expansive. His work often features pedal steel guitar alongside experimental touches and vivid imagery, exploring the everyday alongside the existential. Old Pup’s sophomore album Spider Towns showcases his unique voice and poetic sensibility, earning praise for its warm, haunting soundscapes and deft songwriting.
Grifters & Shills are a Texas roots duo comprised of Rebecca and John Stoll who blend East Texas piney-woods harmony singing with the raw energy of rock ’n’ roll. Their music—described as high-lonesome harmonies with a rock soul—draws comparisons to the likes of Gillian Welch and David Rawlings and echoes classic Americana while pushing into bold, original territory. In 2025 they released their critically acclaimed album Ghost Fleet, a deeply lyrical and acoustic collection of songs that highlight their tight vocal interplay and storytelling.
They’ll be performing together with Old Pup at the historic Old Quarter Acoustic Cafe in Galveston, Texas, on Thursday, February 26, 2026. The Old Quarter is a legendary listening-room venue with deep roots in Texas’ songwriting history, long associated with icons like Townes Van Zandt and a beloved stop on the Gulf Coast music trail.
