The Old Mandeville Historic Association is delighted to announce the 2025 Mother's Day Home Tour will be May 11, 2 pm – 5 pm. Our Home Tour is generously sponsored by Niche Modern Home, and we are grateful for their support. This year's theme is From Creole to Contemporary. In addition to the historic Jean Baptiste Lang House Museum, seven private Old Mandeville homes will open their doors to the public. (Home locations are announced approximately two weeks prior to the event.)
Each year this event has been a resounding success, both as the premier fundraiser for OMHA and as a Mother's Day outing in Old Mandeville. Tour proceeds are a critical source of support for the circa 1850 Jean Baptiste Lang House at 605 Carroll Street, which operates not only as a historic house museum offering tours, but also as an event space, a repository for research materials, and a gift shop. Additionally, tour proceeds allow OMHA to further our efforts to preserve and promote the history and cultural heritage of Old Mandeville through our publications, including the Jean Baptiste Lang House brochure, two Old Mandeville Historic Site Plaque Locations books, and the Old Mandeville Street Strolls walking tour guides (four so far, more to come). Tour proceeds also support a summertime children's history camp, lectures on topics of interest, and periodic field trips to explore the rich cultural heritage of Louisiana and the Gulf South.
Tour tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for students, and may be purchased starting April 1st online at www.oldmandevillehistoricassociation.org or by visiting the Lang House in person during normal hours (cash or check only). Day of Tour tickets will be $30 for adults and remain $15 for students. All ticket holders will need to visit the Lang House in person at 605 Carroll Street to obtain their wristbands and tour map, on Thursday May 8 or Friday May 9 from 10 am to 4 pm, or on Saturday May 10 from 10 am to 1 pm, or on Tour Day starting at 12 noon. More information will be available on our website, our Facebook page, and at the Lang House during its regular hours of Thursday through Friday from 10 am to 4 pm and on Saturdays from 10 am to 1 pm.
