Official Announcement: Don’t Forget the Forgotten MX Tracks of Iowa – Old Gray Hair’s ReunionJoin us for a thrilling weekend of motocross nostalgia and racing action at the Oldest MX Track in Iowa—the New Hartford MX Track—on April 26th and 27th, 2025. This special event, the Old Gray Hair’s Reunion, is proudly held in conjunction with the track’s scheduled race weekend, bringing together motocross enthusiasts, past riders, and fans for a celebration of Iowa’s rich MX history.
Event Schedule
• Saturday, April 26th: Open practice and woods riding. A great opportunity to hit the track or explore the surrounding trails.
• Sunday, April 27th: Race Day! Cheer on competitors and witness the Iowa MX Legends Exhibition Ride between motos, where veteran riders will take a few laps to honor the past.
Participation Details
• Requirements: All riders must possess a valid AMA membership to participate on both days (no district card required). For those needing a temporary pass, a discounted one-day AMA event pass will be available on-site.
• Gear: Helmet, gloves, and boots are mandatory for all riders.
• Fees: Standard club gate and track fees apply to all participants and attendees.
Reunion Highlights
• Meeting Point: Look for the 10x20 blue EZ-Up canopy, which will serve as the central hub for the reunion.
• Memorabilia Display: Bring your photos, memorabilia, vintage MX bikes, and stories to share—Iowa MX history will be on full display at the provided tables.
• Food & Fun: Hot dogs will be grilled on-site for all Forgotten MX Tracks of Iowa (FMXTI) members to enjoy (bring your own drinks). Feel free to bring additional items to grill, along with your own chairs, for a day of great food and greater stories.
Iowa MX Legends Exhibition Ride
On Sunday, we invite veteran riders to join the Iowa MX Legends Exhibition Ride—a free, fun showcase of talent and history between motos. To participate:
• Sign up with your name and a brief summary of your Iowa MX background (to be shared with the announcer).
• AMA membership is required, and proper riding gear is mandatory.
This is a public event hosted by the New Hartford MX Track club, and all are welcome to attend, participate, and celebrate Iowa’s motocross legacy. Come for the riding, stay for the camaraderie, and let’s make this a weekend to remember!
