About this Event
Built in 1842, the Aqueduct was NYC's first reliable and plentiful water supply and enabled the city to grow into a major metropolis. It was an incredible feat of engineering for its time and reached 42 miles from City Hall to the Croton Reservoir in Westchester.
Bring your own bike and lock if you have, otherwsie, there are Citibike docks all along the route!
The bike tour will start at in front of the New York Public Library at 41st Street and 5th Ave and end at the High Bridge Water Tower which will be open to the public that day from 1pm-3pm. The Tower is only open a couple times a year, so this is a great and rare opportunity to see inside!
