Olamim: Farm Playgroup for Littles in Spanish

Olamim means ‘worlds’ in Hebrew, and it is a community cultural space intended for children and their parents to explore, share, and celebrate their intersectional Jewish identity together.
This winter, Olamim is hosting a Spanish immersion playgroup for families with young children who identify as Latinx and Jewish! We want to offer their kids an environment that brings language, culture, and community-building together through play.

About The Organizer:
Ariela Ronay-Jinich grew up in Mexico City, where her family is from. She has been serving Bay Area youth and families since 2005, focusing her work on Jewish educational programs that center nature connection and community-building. Programs she has founded and directed include B'Hootz (Wilderness Torah), Edah (Berkeley), and Urban Adamah's youth and family programs. She currently serves as Program Manager for Project Shamash, a racial justice initiative of Bend the Arc focused on supporting Jews of Color leadership and racial equity work among Jewish organizations of the Bay. "Olamim" blends her current equity work with her extensive background in nature connection, early childhood education, and community-building. Ariela lives in Berkeley, and is raising her daughter, Alma, to delight in speaking Spanish and feel nourished by her Jewish and Mexican cultural roots.
