Olaf John Laneri | Recital PianoBorn in Sicily to an Italian father and a Swedish mother, graduated with honors from the Verona Conservatoire and continued his studies at the Piano Academy of Imola, where he earned a Master's degree in 1998. After winning several national competitions, he achieved prizes in international competitions in Monza, Tokyo, and Hamamatsu. In 1998, he won the 2nd prize with special distinction at the prestigious Busoni Competition in Bolzano, and in 2001, he secured 2nd prize at the World Music Piano Master in Monte Carlo.
His performance of Brahms' *Variations on a Theme of Paganini* received high praise from *International Piano*. Laneri has performed in renowned theaters across Italy and Europe, collaborating with leading orchestras and conductors. He has appeared at festivals and venues such as Teatro Bellini in Catania, the Ruhr Festival, and the Herkulessaal in Munich.
His repertoire includes all 32 Beethoven piano sonatas, which he presented in concert cycles across several Italian cities. Laneri has released recordings of Brahms and Mendelssohn and teaches piano at the Venice Conservatory. He also performs in a duo with violinist Laura Marzadori and as part of Trio Gustav with violinist Francesco Comisso and cellist Dario Destefano.
