Crisp, chilly mornings; leaves starting to change colors in a vibrant mosaic. Fall is almost here. And with Fall comes the Oktoberfest weekend celebrated on the historic South side of Jefferson City. Central Church will once again host its annual Oktoberfest German Dinner on Friday, September 26 from 4;00 - 7:00pm, in coordination with the other Oktoberfest festivities taking place that weekend that are sponsored by the Old Munichburg Association.The menu includes grilled sausage, German potato salad, sauerkraut, fried apples, green beans, and pie... a huge table of pie... for $17. A kids' meal is also being offered for $7 of hot dog, chips, green beans, and dessert. (Children 5 and under eat free.) Dine-in and enjoy the fellowship or drive-thru and eat in the comfort of your own home.
All of the profits from this year's dinner will be donated to Jefferson City Room at the Inn. Room at the Inn is an emergency, low-barrier overnight homeless shelter that operates during the winter months. They provide a hot meal and a warm place to sleep on cold nights for individuals with nowhere else to go.
Central Church is located at 118 W. Ashley St. in Jefferson City, 2 blocks south of US50 between Broadway and Jefferson St. (Just look for our steeple.)
