Join us for Des Moines' Oktoberfest!The new Oktoberfest event will take place within the existing Des Moines Biergarten footprint and stage area at Water Works Park, transforming the space into a lively, three-day celebration featuring live music, expanded food and beverage options, and a full lineup of traditional games and competitions.
Traditional activities include:
• Stein holding contests
• Stein racing
• Pretzel eating contest
• Costume contest
• Beer keg race
• Keg holding contest
• Pretzel toss
• Oktoberfest trivia
The Biergarten has always been about creating a space that’s welcoming, relaxed, and family-friendly — and we wanted to bring that same spirit to our Oktoberfest.
This will be a celebration for everyone: steins of great beer, live music, more food options than ever, and classic Oktoberfest games — all set in the park we love.
We’ll be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day, with the possibility of staying open a bit later depending on the final schedule.
The event is free and open to all.
