9:30 AM–12 Noon – Volunteer & Gardening Projects
This month, we’re partnering with NOLA Ready to learn about storm preparedness and generator safety, while also connecting with neighbors and growing community. Pancakes are back, so come hungry!
We’ll explore how our garden beds connect to the food we eat at the community table, with teaching from Lead Gardener Billie Golan. Together, we’ll nurture the garden, share skills, and strengthen our neighborhood.
📍 Location:
Okra Abbey is on New Orleans Public School property at 1800 Monroe St.

We welcome groups, families, and individuals of all backgrounds to come work alongside neighbors in our community giving garden.
🌱 Weekly Hours:
• Mon–Thurs, 8:30 AM–12:30 PM
• Coffee on Mon/Tues/Thurs at 8:30 AM
• Grace & Greens community meal every Wednesday at Noon
100% of what we grow is shared through our Wednesday lunch, our community refrigerator, and directly to our neighbors’ porches
