Discover the secrets in creating depth and atmosphere in landscape painting! Join teaching artist Gabriel Islas inside SPAM’s Cole Creativity Center for this two-part workshop for all skill levels. This special landscape workshop will reveal the relationship between foreground and background, and core concepts of color, texture, and atmosphere. Gabriel will provide step-by-step instruction and live demonstrations as you create your own 9” x 12” oil painting.This course will meet on two consecutive Saturdays: January 10, and January 17, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
This class is appropriate for everyone ages 16 and over. The cost of the two-day workshop is $90.00 per person. All skill levels are welcome and all materials are provided. Preregistration is required and space is limited. The course will be held inside the Cole Creativity Center located at 123 N 10th St, Santa Paula, CA. Free parking is available directly behind the building and students may enter through the front or back door.
