Dive into the colorful world of seascape painting on round canvases in this Oil Painting: Seascapes course inside the Santa Paula Art Museum’s Cole Creativity Center! Teaching artist Jem Morris will lead this six-part series, where students will learn traditional techniques in oil painting, including composition, light, color, and texture. Students will be led through discussions and step-by-step exercises that provide the foundation for a successful seascape painting, ranging from realistic to impressionistic application.This is a six-part course that will be taught on six consecutive Wednesdays: October 1, October 8, October 15, October 22, October 29, November 5, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
This course is for ages 16 and over. The cost of the six-part course is $250 per person. All skill levels are welcome and all materials are provided. Preregistration is required and space is limited. The course will be held inside the Cole Creativity Center located at 123 N 10th St, Santa Paula, CA. Free parking is available directly behind the building and students may enter through the front or back door.
