
Taught by the highly accomplished and well-known Utah artist Susan Gallacher this exciting 3-day oil painting workshop is a fantastic opportunity to enhance your skills in landscape and still-life painting. Participants can expect to sharpen their understanding of various artistic elements including value (shading and contrast) color theory texture (adding depth and dimension) and compositional design (arranging elements within the artwork).
You will surely walk away from this workshop feeling like a stronger painter with new work you can be proud of!
*Susan Gallacher's workshop includes 3 days of oil-painting from 10am-5pm at Visual Art Institute in South Salt Lake. Easels will be readily available in the classroom for student use. Students are responsible to bring their own paints brushes solvents and painting surfaces.

Oil Paints: Titanium White F. Ultramarine Blue Cerulean Blue Yellow Ochre Cadmium Yellow Med. or Light Cadmium Red Light Alizarin Crimson And your favorite colors such as: Burnt Umber Burnt Sienna Viridian Green Cadmium Orange Ult. Violet etc.
Solvent: Odorless Turpenoid or other good solvent and holder.
Brushes: Bring your favorite oil painting brushes. Need suggestions? Some good ones are Hog Bristle Flats sizes 4 and 6. Synthetic Flats sizes 2 and 4. And a very small round synthetic brush for signing.
Painting Surface: The best is gessoed mdf hardboard or gessoed canvas panels. Please bring 6 panels from 8x10 to 12x16 inches.
