Step beneath the streets of Seattle and into a glowing, hidden studio for a five-week deep dive into the rich, timeless medium of oil painting. Whether you're picking up a brush for the first time or rediscovering a long-lost love for paint, this is your invitation.
What You’ll Learn: By the end of the series, you'll walk away with the confidence and skill to oil paint independently—from raw canvas to final varnish.
Key Skills Covered:
•How to prepare canvas
•How to take care of brushes and materials
•Safe handling and cleanup of oil-based material
•Underpainting and grisaille technique
•Color mixing, glazing, and layering for depth
•Dry-brush, scumbling, and impasto texture effects
Finishing techniques: varnishing, framing advice, and display prep
What’s Included:
•All painting materials and tools (brushes, oils, canvas, mediums, aprons, etc.)
•Your own take-home set of long-handled, natural bristle brushes & materials to maintain them
•Five guided sessions led by a working oil painter and teaching artist, including live models
