The Annual Awards Dinner is one of OHBA’s flagship events, celebrating and recognizing outstanding Latine/x attorneys, law students, and legal professionals across Oregon. The evening emphasizes community, connection, and excellence in the legal profession.
We’re excited to announce that this year’s Annual Awards Dinner will embrace a Día de los Muertos theme. As part of the festivities, professional face painting (calavera-style makeup) will be available for guests who wish to participate.
Face-painting details
Professional makeup artists will be on site offering traditional calavera designs as well as simpler accent looks. Participation is entirely optional — you are welcome to attend without face painting.
A note on cultural respect
We honor Día de los Muertos as a meaningful cultural observance. The face-painting station is intended to be respectful and celebratory: artists will focus on culturally informed designs (calaveras, marigold accents, and related motifs), and event signage will provide brief context about the tradition. We ask all guests to approach the theme with respect and curiosity.
