About this Event
This 2-day course is designed to help the field supervisor get organized in a rapid and professional manner at the scene of an OIS incident. Field supervisors must know the critical tasks and responsibilities that are necessary immediately after an Officer Involved Shooting. This course will present the field supervisor with background information regarding this critical type of confrontation and a plan that can be immediately implemented in order to cover all of the administrative and criminal issues regarding an Officer Involved Shooting incident.
The psychological and legal aspects of an officer involved shooting will be discussed along with the impacts and effects of this incident on the media and the community. This course will also review model policies and procedures that concerned an OIS incident.
