About this Event
OFF THE AIR Presents: Levi Manson | Weston Perry
Some songs feel like old photographs—faded, lived-in, but impossible to throw away. Levi Minson writes those kinds of songs. A third-generation Dust Bowl descendant, he grew up in the Central Valley, where memory lingers in the air. His music is full of the quiet tension of rural life, the weight of history, and the dreamlike feeling of being in motion.
His latest album, Violet Speedway, was recorded to a four-track tape recorder in a Sacramento bedroom—stripped-down, intimate, and built around the flow state of race car drivers pushing 180 mph.
Then there’s Weston Perry, a man with Chattanooga roots, Memphis ties, and a Central Valley soul. He’s the kind of guy who makes instant friends, a Southern storyteller in the old tradition, with a punk streak and a guitar that doesn’t flinch. His voice is clear, intentional, unafraid to crack, bend, and mew around words to tell the story exactly the way it needs to be told. If you’re lucky, you’ve had a conversation with him. If not, here’s the next best thing.
A night of dust, tape, and time.
