This is part of the DW-Hosted Recovery Training series. We will be starting off this season with a DW-Hosted Recovery Gear class held at DNWR (Desert National Wildlife Refuge) Classroom, Saturday 9-27-25 1:00pm-4:00pm, following by a Hands-On "Use Your Gear" class at the Nellis Sand Dunes Sunday 9-28-25 8:00am-Noon.
If you have not attended this class before, don't miss out! This Class is guaranteed to be a learning experience for everyone.....
Saturday's Classroom will discuss most gear needed / used in recovery, with emphasis on Ratings and Safety Factor. Bring a notepad to make your wish list!
Sunday's Field Application with start with the proper wrap and tension of your Winch Line. We will then huddle up in small groups to go "get stuck" and take turns recovering each other with various techniques.
You will get an opportunity to use your own gear, and to test other methods before making purchasing decisions! We will also have demonstrations of more technical applications and talk about safer alternatives.
You do NOT have to attend Saturday's "Know Your Gear" class in order to attend Sunday's "Use Your Gear" class, but Saturday will teach you how to stay safe on Sunday, and help you decide what to buy.
Since these are Training Events, the only requirement is that you show up! No special gear will be required, not even recovery gear! Bring what you have and "try before you buy" other gear that you may be interested in.
* No special requirements for this event
* We will get stuck and recover as required - that is what this event is for
* All-Terrain or Mud Terrain Tires are NOT required, AND stock is okay.
* Do not be late, we will leave without you!
