About this Event
Join us for a night of music that will explore sounds from the Ladino and Yiddish musical traditions, featuring Chaia and Lily Henley. Kleztronica founder Chaia creates Yiddish electronica music using electric fiddle grooves, archival samples, and club sounds. Lily Henley is a folk singer and multi-instrumentalist who performs both new and traditional music in the Ladino language. Chaia and Lily will perform music from each of their repertoires, in addition to new collaborative work fusing these two distinct sounds from across the Jewish world, including Sukkot songs from their respective traditions.
Of Kantaderas and Klezmorim is presented by The Neighborhood: An Urban Center for Jewish Life as a part of the Sukkot in The Neighborhood festival at the Ring Community Center at Luria Academy of Brooklyn. Sukkot in The Neighborhood events take place in an art installation Sukkah created by Ye’ela Wilschanski. Click here to see the full schedule of events.
