About this Event
This Indigenous-led experiential learning program provides an opportunity for all community members to learn about the Indigenous Sweat Lodge Ceremony - Madoodooswan.
This ceremony is a traditional way of healing for many Indigenous communities across Turtle Island and is currently used to help heal community members in York Region.
Participants can come to learn about the history of this ceremony and participate in the preparation of medicines, and the sacred fire, along with traditional songs, prayers, and teachings.
Benefits include a renewed sense of belonging, identity, and improved well-being with Indigenous ways of knowing.
Please note that entering the lodge and participating in the "sweat" portion is not mandatory to benefit from the overall experience
Space is very limited, additional confirmation will be required to enter the lodge.
