ABOUT ODDISEE

Known for his thoughtful and socially conscious lyrics, as well as his skilful production work, Brooklyn-based Sudanese-American rapper Oddisee is coming to Melbourne! Brooklyn-based, Sudanese-American artist Oddisee makes an anticipated return to the shores of Australia for three live shows. Since the release of his album ‘To What End’ in 2023 and more recently ‘Odd Sketches, Vol. 1’ in March 2024, Oddisee has performed extensively across Europe and North America, re-uniting with fans along the way.

Born Amir Elkhalifa in Washington D.C. to a Sudanese father and African American mother, and raised in Prince George’s County, Maryland, Oddisee bore witness to stark inequity early in life and became as political as the city he was raised in. Elkhalifa tackles the human condition with unwavering conviction and candour, merging elements of jazz, funk, and go-go into his hip-hop-rooted production.

ABOUT N’FA JONES

N’fa Jones is an Australian/Sierra-Leonean music artist & university lecturer credited for helping solidify the Australian Hip Hop movement with his 2002 ARIA award-winning Hip Hop band “1200 Techniques”.

Touring locally and internationally with various projects including his multi-award nominated Afro-beat-infused group “Cool Out Sun”, N’fa has gained a wealth of experience, knowledge and cultural growth used to stimulate the local musical community. Turning to film, he recently co-produced the Australian Hop Hop documentary, "Burn Gently" (2023). This sharing of knowledge, music and culture continues to inspire the ever-growing diverse landscape of Australian music.
