Travel back in time this Summer to Port Sunlight, the village founded by 'Soap King' William Hesketh Lever in 1888. The village was built to house Lever's 'Sunlight Soup' factory workers, but today is home to a fascinating museum, beautiful architecture, a world-class art gallery, stunning parkland and a thriving community. We will have a guided tour on the coach by a Port Sunlight Guide directing the driver around the village. This will last for about an hour. We can then have lunch at one of the cafes or village pub.
We have also purchased Port Sunlight Experience tickets, which gives you entry to explore the history of Port Sunlight Museum and you can experience what life was like here over a century ago in the Edwardian Worker's Cottage. You can do this experience at your leisure after lunch. Please Note: The price of the outing includes our guided tour on the coach and the Port Sunlight Experience ticket. Booking is essential, so please book early to secure your place.
Please make a note of the new pick-up times. Pick-ups: 9.00am at Mecca Bingo, Corporation Street, Rotherham, S60 1NG. 9.30am at Pond Hill (outside Penny Black pub), Sheffield, S1 2BG.
