The OctOgre Cup
The teams from the Ogre Kingdoms and surrounding areas have gathered to decide who is the greatest of them all.
The bitter winds howl through the mountains as the teams battle to the remote stadium.
Strange energies swirl in the mist as the brave souls enter the arena.
A voice so deep it rattles the very souls of all who hear it booms out
“WELCOME! WELCOME TO THE OCTOGRE CUP. ONLY THE STRONGEST AND FASTEST CAN SURVIVE”
The stands are full of Ogres desperate to see their kin show the other races their skills.
If they see a team with no big guys they get incensed and will take to the field to prove that Ogres are the best!
Team Building
All teams get a starting treasury of 1,150,000 gp which can be used to buy players, sideline staff, rerolls and inducements. If a team is able to roster a player of strength 5 or higher, then they MUST do so. Teams in tiers 1-4 may hire 0-1 Star Players. Tier 5 Teams may hire 0-2 Star Players. 11 players must be rostered before any Star Players can be hired. The Highlander rule is in effect, so if both teams hire the same star player, neither gets to use them.
As per GW FAQs, star players that come as a pair only count for one star player spot, but will fill two spots on your roster.
In addition to this, if you hire a Star Players your team go all fan boy/girl/thing and forget to train properly for the tournament. There is a deduction of 12 SPP to hire any star player. If your team should hire a MegaStar, your players even more distracted. To hire any of the following Stars Players you must pay 30 SPP (instead of 12 SPP) from your allocation. Teams hiring one of these stars are no longer allowed to stack skills. (Note this is an expanded list from GW’s MegaStar List).
Bomber Dribblesnot
Cindy Piewhistle
Deeproot Strongbranch
Dribl and Drull
Estelle La Veneaux
Griff Oberwald

H’Thark The Unstoppable

Any star released by Games Workshop after 1st February 2025 but before 1st October 2025 will be allowed, but will be classed by default as a MegaStar. Any star player promoted to a MegaStar by Games Workshop prior to the event will also be classed as a MegaStar for OctOgre.
No Mercenaries APART from Giants may be induced. Ogre love the big lads/lasses.
Any and all other inducements from Main Rulebook, DeathZone and BB 2020 Spike Magazines are allowed.
SPP Packages
Teams will get an allocation of SPP to spend on additional skills for their players. You may stack additional skills onto a player as per the additional cost for skills on page 71 of rulebook. You may only select primary or secondary skills. Random skills are not allowed. Tier 5 teams can spend SPP on stat increases as below 18 SPP to boost a player's MA, PA or AV by 1 (-1 for PA)
20 SPP to boost AG by 1
24 SPP to boost ST by 1

Tier 2 (42 SPP) Chaos Dwarf, Dwarf, Lizardmen, Norse, Orcs, Vampires

Any teams released by Games Workshop prior to 1st October 2025 will be eligible. They will be classed as a Tier 1 team unless the TO decides otherwise. Any changes to teams/re-released Teams of Legend prior to 1st October 2025 will be implemented. This may affect the tiering of such teams.
SPECIAL OCTOGRE RULES
OGRE THE TOP
At the start of each half, after both teams have set up but before placing the ball for the kick off check if either team is NOT fielding a st5+ player. For each team that doesn’t have a st5+ player, you should randomly select a player on the field. Remove them from the field of play and place them in the Reserves box. A Drunk Ogre Fan then takes the spot on the pitch they previously occupied.
DRUNK OGRE FAN
MA 4: ST5 AG 5+ PA - AV 9+ Mighty Blow (+1), Bonehead, No Hands, Animal Savagery, Drunkard, Loner (6+).
At the end of the drive the Drunk Ogre Fan returns to their place in the stands.
Note: you may roll Animal Savagery and Bonehead in whichever order you choose.
OGRE AND OUT
If a player is pushed or thrown into the crowd add an additional +1 to the Injury roll as all the Ogre fans have Mighty Blow (+1).
OGRE PITCHES
The pitches of the OctOgre Cup are nothing more than some lines painted on the rough mountain plateau. Every time a ball hits the floor, it will bounce one additional in a D8 direction. This can happen multiple times if a player fails to catch the bouncing ball or it hits a prone player. As the pitches are high on the mountains, a special weather table is in effect.
WEATHER TABLE
2 GALE FORCE WINDS:
The wind is unbelievably strong, making passing play impossible and even affecting the kick off! Whilst this weather condition is in effect, ignore step 2 of the Start of Drive sequence - it is not possible for a kick-off to be resolved and a touchback is automatically caused instead.
Additionally, whilst this weather condition is in effect, no Pass or Throw Team-mate actions can be performed.
3 VERY SUNNY:
A glorious day,but the clear skies and bright sunlight interfere with the passing game! Apply a -1 modifier every time a player tests against their Passing Ability
4-10 PERFECT CONDITIONS(well, almost):
It’s rather chilly and it’s threatening to rain (or snow), but considering the time of year, the conditions are almost perfect for Blood Bowl
11 BLIZZARD:
Freezing conditions and heavy falls of snow make the footing treacherous. Apply a -1 modifier every time a player attempts to Rush an extra square.
Additionally, the poor visibility means that only Quick and Short passes can be attempted
12 ICE STORM:
It is extremely cold, so cold in fact that it is raining literal lumps of ice! The ice on the pitch is so treacherous that none of the players are willing to hurry, no matter how much their coach shouts! Apply a -1 modifier every time a player attempts to Rush an extra square.
Additionally, all players on the pitch subtract 1 from their MA.

Chess Clocks: If you are worried about time, then we recommend that you use a chess clock. There are apps available to download (such as BB Coach Assistant). We may have some available. Chess Clocks MUST be implemented if one player requests it at the start of the game, or if a TO requests it during the game. If coaches wish to implement a chess clock midgame then either the opponent, TO or both must consent to this.
Format:
Swiss style resurrection tournament (ie your roster resets prior to each game with no SPP, injuries or additional players carried over). Round 1 fixtures will be allocated randomly, with following pairings created by the software, pairing coaches on the same or similar points, avoiding rematches.
Scoring:

0 for a loss
